I’ve read very few books which are written by CEOs and have so much to offer… Richard Branson (author and CEO, Virgin Group) is possibly the most adventurous of the lot. Surely, his flirtations with “Student” and then Virgin Records and Airlines were magnimous for so many reasons. The kind of risks that he had taken were possible too difficult for an average CEO today, simply because of the numerous Board of Directors being the white collared and white bearded guys. Adventure is something best left to sports – they would say. No, I am not discrimating against anyone of any hair colour. I am far from that. All I am suggesting is that the book is brilliant and there are several instances where you would read and wait for it to get over. Be it the fight with BA, or competing with EMI or anything else, it is high on energy.
Surely, a must read. But, be cautious, it has the effect of lifting you up in the air like a hot air balloon ride.
